A very first hello to all of my fellow searchers, discoverers, life adventurers and entrepreneurs. Welcome to my blog Life Juice 4 you. I have long been asked by people who know me well to write a regular blog. “come on Paulie you have so much to share about your understanding of life and business there are so many more people you could be benefitting from your knowledge and experience!” ok ok! I replied, I will…. one day.. I promise. Well that one day is today so here we are. I feel strangely relieved as well as excited to be sharing my extensive knowledge and experience of life and business with those who want to develop and grow. This extensive knowledge and experience has come from being a life long student of living and life. From personal relationships to building many businesses. This extensive experience and success in life has come from me failing more times than I have succeeded. Failure and pain over time has become my friend. My very very best friend. So the aim of this blog is to share with you all my insights, knowledge and experience in life and business. One of my on going intentions is to squeeze as much juice out of this wonderful thing called life as well as all the fascinating opportunities that are such a big part of it. So that’s why I have called the blog life Juice for you. I want to help you to do the same. Why? Because I want to be as happy and fulfilled as a human being possibly can be, despite myself. One of the principles I live by is to give what I want to receive. So this blog represents that very thing…. Giving!
While thinking about what the first article ought to be I asked myself a crucial question! Where would be the first place to start? The answer? The one first thing that holds people back more than anything else or anyone else! Themselves! Not our history, not our colour, not our education, not our parents, no our bosses, not our life partners. No! Ourselves. Yes! Me, myself and I. When I first took responsibility for this my life and I started to grow and advance at a rapid clip. Before I made this realisation I was really angry with the world. I was dependent, frustrated, weak and dependent. Dependent emotionally on what others thought of me as well as what they could do for me.
Then one day it hit me like a thunderbolt from the blue. I was just recovering from a second divorce and was doing some hard soul searching when it suddenly dawned on me.
I was terribly equipped as a human being to have deep, meaningful, trust filled relationships with others.
I didn’t know who I could form them with. I didn’t know how to build them. I didn’t know how to maintain and enhance them. It had to change. It had to change because I was deeply unhappy and if it didn’t change it was only going to carry on and even get worse. It was effecting my success in business, my personal relationships with my family as well as my friendships. Then an even greater realisation hit me. A realisation that changed the way I saw everything and everyone for the better for the rest of my life. I realisation that for the first time got me on the road to great relationships with others. Great relationships in every area of my life that were deep, meaningful and purposeful and immensely fulfilling. Relationships that enabled me to live my life to the full. Relationships that enabled me to build better businesses. Relationships that helped me realise for the first time that I could optimise my life.
The realisation was this…..
That I did not have a good relationship with myself!
I realised that I had a very dysfunctional and relatively unhappy and unproductive relationship with myself. The reason? I was ignorant! I did not know much about myself at all. Oh yes I knew who I was supposed to be. I knew the image. But I didn’t have a deep and meaningful understanding of my values or the principles I ought to live by or the power of a human being. I didn’t really know what I wanted out if life.
So I started writing down as many questions as possible that related to my life and added to them over the subsequent years. I was astonished how much about who I really was and what I really wanted that I struggled over. But I persisted. Gradually I started to gain an accurate and thorough self knowledge. I started relating to my self more and more and so a wonderful, clear, trust filled and character and competent rich relationship with myself started to evolve and form.
Because of this I was able to realise who I could have a relationship with and at what level. I was able to get my expectations for myself and others in the right place and then build from there. I started mentoring others from there and have as a result formed some of the most fulfilling and incredible relationships with people that I didn’t think possible. But it all starts with me. With me, myself and I.
What about you? What do think? Can you possibly think of anything more important than a wonderful, happy, fulfilled trust filled relationship with self. Think about it. There isn’t is there? Your success with people and things has to do with the quality of your relationship with those things. If you have a bad relationship with yourself in any area of endeavour it will reflect out there in your world. If you don’t know yourself intimately well then you can’t know your world intimately well. If you don’t know your world intimately well then how can you know your future let alone go out and achieve it.
This series of blogs will help you with the knowledge that you need to start the process of getting to know yourself better so that you can embark on a wonderful relationship with yourself and by extension with those people and things that you want in your life. This blog will help you to get to know yourself, your world inside and out, so that you future will be in hour hands and not someone else’s. I look forward to sharing this with you and look forward to bearing from you about your experiences while finding your true self, understanding your world and how you are designing your future.
The most important knowledge to you is the knowledge relating to yourself. Get fascinated with it. You are an amazing human being and you are fathomless. Get knowing you, become a student of you and you will certainly know yourself, know your world, know your future.
